Solzhenitsyn's Wife

Solzhenitsyn was famous for his literary work 'Gulag Archipelagoes ' ' In First Circle' , and once he was put in Gulag for a long time. From there he wrote a letter to his wife in which he told her not to wait him. She said she wanted to hear that he wanted her to wait but instead he sent her a farewell letter. She thought he had already lost his love to her, so she separated from him.

If he thought he can't give her a happiness because he was isolated in Gulag, which means he doesn't love her any more. If it's replaceable, we didn't call it 'love'.
