Public vs Private

Public vs Private
2006.12.01 4:34

It's 4:30 AM. I must go to sleep though I have a feeling that I am unable to fulfil my quest. Recently I noticed my life has been occupied by too many working hours. It's so sad.
In a TV, Murakami, the head of Murakami Fund is fighting against his allegation of insider trading. Horiemon is fighting, too. Their opponents are common -Tokyo Public Prosecuters Office. This investigation agency is the strongest investigating body in Japan. Almost all members are Tokyo University graduates. Both Horiemon and Murakami are from this university. Public versus Private. Always Pubic won the fight in the past. But this time the consequence suggests outcome will be totally uncertain.

Three Was Enough

Segway, plasma television, iPod, cognac, cigar, Rolex. These are the items of luxury goods banned by America.
Three Party Talk just ended. Japan was unable to take part in the talks even the representstive is in Beijing. North Korea insited that Japan not take part in the talks. North Korea could hold talks to America. It was not just a two party talks, but they succeeded in talking to America with China's presence. It was a major step. Japanese government or civil servants has been more and more unable to cope with the situation well. The role of civil servants or government official has been declining rapidly.

Dialectic

Dialectic
2006.11.29 3:12

A number of people whose ethnic backgroud is North Korea live in Japan proper. An old woman in her 70s was investigated, she tried to take a number of protein ampoules out to North Korea by ship. The name of drug is Moriamin. According to police announcement, this drug is used to cure nuclear exposure.

Three Party Talk

Three Party Talk
2006.11.29 2:42

North Korea succeeded in nuclear experiment, it joined a nuclear club. The representatives of six countries gathered in Beijing, but North Korea has been insisting it doesn't want Japan to participate in six party talk. As a matter of fact, US, China, and North Korea met prior to six party talk. Now it's uncertain whether six party talk will be held. I can see the power of nuclear weapon clearly. For them Japan doesn't have to take part in talk. For them those who hold the third fire-nuclear weapon are only eligible to represent their people.

Bell Pepper

In sourthern Japan bell pepper was too much produced, which is affected by unusually warm autumn, so farmers had to throw them away. We call this production coordination.

Pacific Saury

Pacific saury is regarded as one of very delicious tastes in autumn, people here historically appreciate the taste of it. Tens of pacific saury was landed in east coast of northern Hokkaido, adjacent to the Sea of Okhotsk. This phenomenon is very strange.

Who Owns The Beach?

Who Owns The Beach?
2006.11.27 18:42

Beach is said to be no one's property. No one can claim property right over the beach. Therefore like a park made in nature, anyone can play there at leisure. Three years ago adjacent to the beach, the newly built houses started appearing. One by one now there are about 15 houses being built in the area. Two years ago fireworks and berbecue were prohibited there, because residents there feel annoyed by these acts. In a park adjacent to residential area and red light district, too, young people were restricted to gather there many years ago. If such plays or activities were prohibited in a area like this, where should they hold such events? Public property like a beach, park is disappearing. Altough this is a story in a country whose land is narrow.

Because Deep Impact ate grass in the racehorse field where the medicine containing the prohibited drug were spread accidentally. Amazing. What do they want to keep by saying such a strange excuse? It is only their face.

Fiction Ought To Describe Ideal

Fiction Ought To Describe Ideal
2006.11.27 18:08

Very late last night I watched the movie. It was a rather strange movie though it didn't matter. What matter was its lack of morality. Movies are fictitious world. If good prospers and evil extincts, I feel happy and also I want to be as virtuous as I can. But if evil survived and good were annihilated, I wouldn't be eager to be a good person. Of course in reality, good does not always prevail, evil might survive, reality is as such, based on such severity, which is reality. But in fiction I want good to survive and evil to be terminated. That's what fiction means. I am not impressed if just a reality is described in movies. I lost precious time.

New Ancient Regime

New Ancient Regime
2006.11.27 17:40

In Japan already one-third of workforce is occupied by non-regular workers - part-time, full-time contract, usually half a year, one year respectively. In the case of 18 to 24 year old young people, one-half of all workforce is non-regular workers. Non-regular workers don't have a bonus, usually twice in a year. Recently the introduction of white collar exemption has been argued, this is the system white collar workers have to work till they finish their job in wage of eight hours in a day, forty hours in a week. Their extra working hours will be ignored. New ancient regime has been emerging in Japan's society.

The Superstition Of Numbers

The Superstition Of Numbers
2006.11.22 3:02

$3.99, $4.99...Indeed many goods are rarely sold by just $4, $5 exact. In Japan the products are usually sold 398 yen, 498 yen, etc. Eight is used instead of 9.
One supermarket was merged from America capital and they started using 399 yen, 499 yen insead of 398, 498. In Japan there's some superstition related to the figure. They don't like to use 4, 9 basically, they prefer using 8, so for them 399, 499 must have looked as if they are bad numbers. It might have affected sales, which is not sure though, they soon changed the price like 397, 497. For Japanese 7 means nothing but of course they know 7 is a lucky number in Western culture. Why they just didn't return to number 8? Probably for American CEO, 8 meant nothing while 7 means something. I think the gap between 9, 8, 7 in sales is completely ignorable.

Fake Reality

Fake Reality
2006.11.22 2:29

In TV show there have been some practices. The producer of the program deliberately makes some fake reality to entertain viewers, to raise the rate of view, etc. In some long lasting TV program, this practice was revealed and owing to that, that long lasting program was ended. The master of ceremony of this program condemed the producer saying 'That fool...' He became very popular for this program but he had to quit his role at the same time. He could have gotten another master of ceremony, because it was not he who made a false story, but he disappeared from the public scene after that. He had forgotten the popularity of the program was made by the producer's fake reality. Then he had forgotten his popularity was also built by the fake program based on the fake reality. He didn't realise that the fake reality couldn't come up with a real popularity.

The Negotiator

The Negotiator
2006.11.20 1:46

There's a reason Japan cannot win in international diplomacy.
Attendants of Japan are elite bureaucrats at least in Japan. They are spoiled in Japan. They are good at issuing an order but not good at negotiating. Come back home, they are not eligible to be a representative in international scene.
Negotiators in international trade from multinational corporation are much better and they don't have to be Japanese to be a representative of this country.
Hire Americans or else whoever excellent for the sake of Japan's national interest.

Turbulence

One aeroplane Air Canada 38 was landed unexpectedly after it was involved by turbulence on the way to Canada from Shanghai. The type of the aeroplane was Boeing 777.
Another aeroplane JAL was also involved by turbulence and landed in Osaka, the type of the aeroplane happened to be the same one.
Turbulence is a cry of atmosphere, but it sometimes shows its fang to humans.

Birds

Birds
2006.11.19 20:06

Birds are said to be the direct offspring of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs extincted, but birds survived.
When the Ice Age arrived, birds were able to fly from cold countries to warm ones. Birds were small enough so they didn't have to have lots of preys. In the age few animals only survived, it must have worked well.
That's it.

A Theory Of Policeman

A Theory Of Policeman
2006.11.17 21:24

Yesterday one policeman was arrested by public indecency for exposing himself. His age happened to be the same as mine. It has nothing to do with me though. His duty was temporarily stopped for some term, then he quitted his job at the same time. There's a huge difference between the temporary stopping of his duty and being fired as punishment, in former case he can receive a retirement money. In latter case he can receive no money.
Why the crime of policeman is punished less severely than the cases committed by ordinary citizen. If we committed the same crime regadless of whether we are public servant( except for policeman ) or working at a private secter, we will be immediately fired as punishment with no retirement pay at all.
Why the crime of policeman is punishable more leniently? We tend to think policeman is a man who usually enforce law and order therefore need high ethical standard. But they -police people might think that they are enforcing law and order therefore they are contributing to decreasing the number of crimes a lot so their crime ought to be punishable less severely because of the contribution they have been doing.

Nissin foods (first position)and Myojo foods(fourth position) used to be a rival in Japan's market. Now Myojo foods is under the threat of TOB by American investment fund. Myojo asked Nissin to buy them and Nissin issued TOB.

Big Investment
2006.11.17 0:20

Japan's ace pitcher Matsuzaka crossed the Pacific. He moves to Boston Red Sox by 60,00,000,000 yen (60,000,000 dollar). Internationalisation of Major league is obvious. Japan's TV station will want to air the game between Yankees and Red Sox. They will sure to spend millions of money. The money will surely exceed 60 million dollars. This is the law of investment.
Tsunami
2006.11.17 0:17

Tsunami was expected to attack coast side of northern Japan. Why they could say that? Because the sea level of these coast line drastically went downward. This is an omen of forthcoming Tsunami attack. Calmness before storm is the similar phenomenon.
Tsunami didn't attack. All is good if the end is good.
'Northern Territory'
2006.11.17 0:14

Two days ago some news agency was reporting that the earthquake occured in Etorofu island in 'Northern Territory'. It's so misleading. Northern territory is a southernmost two islands of Kuril islands. These two islands are Russian territory, but Japanese government has been claiming these two islands historically belongs to Japan. It is completely free to claim where the two islands belong to. But it is totally another actually which country rules these two islands, obviously Russians do.
Historicaly these two islands along with other two islands initialy belong to Japan in 1854. But certainly later in 1945 after the World War II in San Fransisco Peace Treaty, Japan gave up Kuril islands. These two islands were certainly Japanese territory many years ago as Japan insists, but at the same time they are one of the abandoned part of Kuril islands.
It might be acceptable to use such a term in political insist, but it is not suitable to use it in a news report.

Confusion

Recently I've been receiving tens of emails, until recently I didn't know the limit of all my inbox email was just 500. My several oldest emails that I got around February, 2004 were gone. Sooner the better I started collecting emails of my previous girlfriend. Though I lost her four or five earliest emails, I was able to store her about 100 emails. I started doing so when I was alone on Saturday. I started doing so still on Sunday. I was with someone. I started confusing, her emails were an endless repetition of separation and invitation, I was unable to tell one and the other often since there were many similar expressions. She's gone one year ago. At least she left here saying good-bye. She was a nice girl in spite of her temperament. Let by gones be by gones. Her lost emails disappeared for ever.

New Discussion System

Please help test new discussion system...But I never helped test a new system, so I didn't know what's this. Tonight I noticed some comments are not posted from 'reply to this' button, but 'reply', 'reply' is to make a new thread. At first sight I was unable to understand the reason some were posting from 'reply'. Then I realised all replies to each comment were unabled. Probably anyone can reply for ten minutes after the poster posted, then some time after that none is allowed to post a comment any more, instead they have to open a new thread. This might reduce the total number of post, oh, this might be so-called slashdot's new discussion system. All 'reply to this' buttons were appeared again after I took a bath. It was like a midautumn evening dream.

Last year South Spain was struck by recordbreaking drought. This is said to be the phenomenon caused by global warming. Amazon Basin is said to be a barren desert in 2100.

Disposable

Mr Koizumi, needless to say former premier of Japan, made a speech in front of the first year member of the House of Representatives that the politicians are disposable. Some thirty candidates were picked out to be the 'assassin' against those who were opposing to Japan's post privatisation. The result was overwhelming. Almost all new candidates became the member of parliament. Now Mr Koizumi was gone office. The party started arguing whether they accept those who opposed the Japan Post privatisation and kicked out of the party.

Kookai

Kookai
2006.11.07 3:08

Kookai is a Famous French clothing company. Kookai must have nothing to do with Japanese monk Kuukai-.. But if the concept of Kookai in fashion was based on the idea and thought of Kuukai, it is very fascinating. Still many ordinary people go on a trip in 88 temples in an island. It takes at least three months but it might be a wonderful experience when it completed. Kuukai ( 774-835 ) arranged 88 temples after he came back from China. His Buddhist preaching is esoteric, but he not only tsught his Buddhism but did lots of public enterprises like making a pond for drought. 88 Temples pilgrimage is not only held by elderlies but by youngsters too for those intend to seek the meaning of their life by this journey. We have to walk thoughout this journey. I intend to do sometime later in my life. Here's an interpretation of Kuukai in Japanese. Kuu in Japanese means 'the sky' , and Kai means 'the sea', the place where two crossed is horizon. I intend to go through in spite of all the obstacles in my life looking only toward horizon, where Kuukai is standing.

The corporate tax will be reduced soon as the European or American level. East Asian level is less severe than European or American level. Government refused to reduce the corporate tax as East Asian level. Instead the current administration asked the corparate organisation to increase the salary of their employees. This is a perfect example the role of government has been diminishing greatly. This itself ought to be welcome. But I'm not sure whether the corporation will improve the benifit of their employees. I have nothing for it but to wait for the corporation.

Empty Spot
2006.11.05 5:14

The bureaucrats power will drastically increase under the new administration. In foreign relations this country's position will dramatically decline. More and more she will lose identity as a nation. The power seizure of this administration means a kind of appearance of empty spot in map. I don't mention which country.

The Third Fire
2006.11.05 4:04

At the end of 19th century, still no human could handle the fate of all humans, still the grip of destiny was tightly held by the hands of supreme being other than humans. Since humans invented the third fire, now humans are the ones that can decide what is good and evil. Humans are now beyond good and evil.
